Late January 2011
The water level this morning is at 12.41, and the temperature is at 57 after the cold front that came through yesterday.
There are fish on the beds off of the shoal, behind the east wall, the north shore and the end of the monkey box.
There are also a lot of fish being caught in the ell grass on the outside of the shoal. They are biting skinny dippers, spinner baits and rattle traps. That area seems to be holding a lot of fish, not all are big, but you can have a ball catching them. There are also fish at the end of Uncle Joes cut, and the islands out if front of the cut.
The spoil islands just off the main channel are also holding a lot of fish, worms, skinny dippers and flukes will catch them.
This has just been a good time to fish, even with the weather fronts. Care has to be take when running around the lake, I also found that you can not run the trail on the east side of Rita Island, not near enough water.
