November 2011

The lake level this morning was at 13.13 and going up. The fishing has been fantastic, and will get only better.

That's not what this report is about though, it is time to move on with my life and start a whole new chapter. I am going to retire from fishing, not from work, or life, just the guide business. I have sold my boat and my house, my wife Alberta and I are going to be moving to be near my oldest son and out grandkids in California. I'm not totally sure what we will do out there, but sometimes you just have to turn everything upside down.

Late June 2011

The lake is getting lower each day, but the fishing continues to be as good as ever. You just cant go to all the places you would like to go. The level this morning is at 9.55 and falling about 3 hundredths a day. We have had a little rain the past couple of days, but it is so dry, that it really doesn't make much of a difference. The lake temperature yesterday was at 86 degrees. The lake is getting lower each day, but the fishing continues to be as good as ever. You just cant go to all the places you would like to go. Mid September 2011

I'm sorry that I haven't posted a new fishing report lately. This is our slower (business wise) time of the year, and I have been doing some traveling to New York to fish in a salmon tournament with my son Bob, and out to California to see my other son Craig and my grandkids. It's not that I haven't fished, just haven't been that much, and haven't taken the time to post new reports. So here's the latest.

The lake has come up some, not enough that you can run anywhere you want, but much better than it was. The level this morning is at 10.79. By being careful, you can get to more areas than earlier. The water temperature is still in the mid to high 80's depending on the wind and the time of the day. The east wall, and the west wall are holding some nice fish. The main channel out of Clewiston is also still holding good numbers of fish.

Mid May 2011

The water is dropping. The level this morning is at 10.69 and still falling, the combination of wind, no rain, lots of sun, and water releases, is causing the levels to keep going down. The water temperature yesterday was at 82 degrees.

The fishing is still as fantastic as it has been all year. You just have to be very careful as to where you go, and how you get there. We were in an area that I have been fishing all year the other day, and honestly, if we made more than 2 casts without a fish, we were laughing "what's wrong"! It was incredible, and those fish were in only 18 inches of water.
